Since it is the most important day of your life it will be worth investing a little money in either hiring a makeup artist or having a makeover done. A lot of brides tend to overlook makeup because they're more preoccupied with dress, flowers, invites, and even hair...but makeup is also very important. The pictures will be treasured and around forever so you want to look timeless but most of all you want to look your best.

If you still don't want to spend the money then I suggest asking a friend or relative that is good with makeup to teach you some techniques. There are some great youtube videos too...search up askmemakeup and pursebuzz on youtube for awesome tutorials.

Keep practicing your look also. Have someone take pictures of you if you can so that you can adjust your makeup accordingly. Generally brides need to wear heavier makeup (even if its supposed to look natural) because a light application can look nice in person but can end up looking pale and washed out in photos and video.

Another tip is false lashes. I know a lot of women are intimidated by false lashes but it's a must for your wedding day. You can avoid wearing mascara which will run if you cry and you'll definitely be crying =) If you do your own makeup you can always go to MAC or another counter purchase a set of lashes and have the artist apply it for you right then and there. I highly recommend MAC's #7

Good luck to you, your wedding, and your future....Most affordable way to get a pro look for bridal makeup?

I could invite you to a skin care class in the chicago area.
ask around. your friends might know someone who is in beauty school/works in cosmetics/just good with makeup who would be willing to do it for a fraction of the price. you never know. Good luck!

Isn't there anyone in the family that is good with makeup? If so ask them to do it and make sure to have all the makeup they need, do a trial run so you will see what it is that you want and it will be much easier on the big day. Also, you may go and get a free makeover if you buy something at some department stores. If you find one that will do it go and have it done and watch them and remember what they do and how they use the makeup. I really thing that for pictures you have to have it darker or more makeup for the pictures to look good, America's top model that can help with how to apply it. Mary Kay usually has parties and they let you try makeup and try to sell it of course, look for a salesperson and attend a party. If you don't wear a lot of makeup normally just don't go overboard. Practice using foundation or now the minerals are really great for a more natural and glowing look and drug stores have them. Make your eyes simple with a liner that is a little darker than your hair and use a pastel eyeshadow with white below the brow, the trick is to smooth it so it looks natural and not like it begins and ends at a certain point. I truly believe with practice and maybe some help from friends you will be able to do it just as well as anyone else. Good luck and congrats!!! Miss Mary
they usually do it for free at bergners...
